Planning your render or cladding project

A little preparation makes the first conversation easier. You do not need to know every technical detail before asking for a quote.

Share clear photos and the location

Photograph the whole wall, each elevation you want included, and any damaged areas. Take wider pictures that show windows, doors, adjoining materials and access. Tell us your suburb so we can plan the site visit.

A rough wall area or dimensions are helpful, but do not worry if you cannot measure accurately. We measure on site before preparing the final written price. Avoid climbing or entering inaccessible areas just to get a measurement or photograph.

Describe the result you want

Are you refreshing existing brick, repairing old render, finishing an extension or choosing cladding for a new build? Explain the project first. Photos of finishes you like can help, and we can discuss which systems suit the actual wall.

If you have construction drawings or a specified wall system, share them early. Confirm whether the desired finish includes rendering only, a texture coat, painting or a membrane coating, or installation of panels and cladding.

Think about access and protection

Point out narrow side paths, changes in level, gardens, parked vehicles and any areas that need to remain accessible. Let us know about children, pets and working-from-home requirements so the site can be planned sensibly.

Discuss what needs covering or moving before the work begins and whether scaffolding is required. These details can affect the scope, sequence and quote, especially on upper storeys or tight sites.

Agree on scope and timing

Ask which wall areas and preparation stages the price covers, how the final finish is specified, and what happens if existing damage needs extra work. A clear written scope makes it easier to compare quotes and understand the result you are buying.

Exterior work also depends on weather and the selected system's curing requirements. Discuss your preferred date, the anticipated duration and any other trades involved. We confirm the plan with you before work starts.
